Sometimes researchers receive invitations to attend a conferences that are not legitimate.
Predatory conferences are false conferences for academics. They often involve empty conference centres, poor organization, and unexpected charges.
- The conference claim international status but the delegates seem to come from only one country
- The organiser’s contact details are missing
- The conference’s technical programme is extremely broad and covers too many subjects and topics
- More conferences with a suspiciously similar name pop up in multiple locations
- The website looks strange:
- poorly written content
- spelling or grammar mistakes
- broken links
- a lot of different graphics styles, colour schemes and logos
