New updates on academic databases

Scopus and Web of Science updates

Scopus updates

The search results page in the Scopus database was recently updated, and now includes the following improvements:

  • Search directly from the results page
  • Additional interactive filters to reduce the number of results: Open Access, Publication stage, Funding sponsor…
  • The option to export the results in additional formats
  • The option to analyze data from the list of results (Research Data and Analyze Results)

Scopus AI

An AI-based tool that helps you review data, summarize texts, and provide concise academic insights based on reliable search results from Scopus. Although the results are based on reliable content (Scopus data starting 2018), it is always recommended to double-check and use critical thinking before relying on the outputs of any AI-based tool – due to the risk of biases, copyright infringement, and inaccuracies.

Please note: Scopus AI is currently only offered in Beta version and has not yet been officially launched to all users.

The search request for Scopus AI will be formulated in a way that simulates a real conversation: you can ask your questions even without defining specific terms. For example: How does diversity affect creativity when working in groups?

The answer is given as a simple text summary, like a conversation. For example: In groups and individuals, diversity of information sources and perspectives are key to creativity.

Additionally, the answer includes references to the bibliographic sources that support the arguments, both in the form of bibliographic citations (for example, (4)) and as a list. It is also possible to create new searches by topic using a “concept map”, which shows the hierarchy of topics (concepts).
