The Technion librarians provide advice and guidance to all of the Technion community- literature searches and management, information evaluation for research, academic writing, projects, etc.
Assistance with a comprehensive literature search, searches in databases, patent searches, teaching patrons how to choose the most suitable databases and the most effective keywords, etc. Assistance is customized to each situation.
Off-Campus Access to the Technion Network
Mendeley, like Endnote and other reference management software, is used to save the reference information of your research materials and to cite them easily when writing articles. It is a smart and efficient tool and offers many management options. It allows multiple user collaboration on documents.
H-index, impact factors, citation count, etc. are used to determine the quality of scientific articles, research reports, academic institutions and researcher status, etc.
Choosing the most appropriate open access journal, information about publishing options and copyright, ascertaining price reductions and benefits that some publishers offer Technion faculty.
Professional and educational tours can be requested in various languages. The Technion Historical Archive is located in the Elyachar Central Library. It includes materials about the Technion’s establishment and development, architectural maps, programs, etc.
Individual and group instruction:
We are constantly striving to develop the Library Portal so that it will be easy for users to work independently. Even so we recommend instructional meetings with librarians from time to time in order to learn about new options and the most updated techniques for information searches and management. These sessions are tailored to the users.
