Technion students and staff may borrow library materials from each Technion Libraries.
Each library determines the loan period for its materials.
Patrons outside the Technion community may purchase borrowing privileges at the Central Library. Each library decides what external patrons may borrow and for how long.

The Technion Library Catalog lists all materials available in the Technion Libraries.
The catalog lists the location, loan period and current availability on shelves of available materials.
Library materials are checked out at the library circulation desk with a valid student Technion employee card.
The loan period of an item is determined by its type, patron demand and the needs of the library. The loan period is noted in the library catalog.
Please note:The Central Library receives a list of honors students every semester. The student may choose to have this noted in his library file. This allows him the special benefit of borrowing double amount of library materials.

Reserving Library Materials
Any item that can be borrowed may be reserved whether it is on the shelf or on loan:
An item on the shelf - the item should be available within 48 hours, if it is still on the shelf at the time and the order is received.
An item that is checked out - the person who has the item receives an e-mail stating that the book was reserved by another and therefore, will not be renewed and must be returned at the end of the circulation period.
When the item becomes available, the patron is notified by e-mail (he can also see this information online in his Readers Card). The item is reserved for three days in the respective library.

Updating Personal Information
All patrons are requested to keep their contact information updated (e-mail address, mailing address, home and mobile telephone numbers). Changes can be reported in any Technion library or made online in the Reader's Card.
Inter-university Guarantee Letter
Technion staff members, active and retired, may request a guarantee Letter that allows them to receive library services and privileges from other participating academic libraries.
MSc and PhD students may request letters for two academic libraries. They must bring guarantee letters from their advisors.
Guarantee Letters are only available at the Central Library Circulation Desk.
